Jerusalem was the city of God
’Cause that’s where God did place His name
But it fell, but it fell,
But it fell from glory to shame
A sinful symbol it became
Ezekiel was a prophet of God
Because God told him what to do
And I know, and I know,
And I know what he said was true
His words were meant for me and you:
"Make a model of this city, make a model out of clay
And upon it the destruction of Jerusalem portray
For the city is a model and the model is a sign
Unto all the house of Israel in a distant future time
"Shave your head and place your hair in three divisions on that clay
This will show what’s going to happen to your people in that day
Chop the first part with a knife and burn the second part with fire
Throw the third part in the air to represent what will transpire
"For a third of all your people will be slain by enemies
While another third will perish due to famine and disease
And the other third remaining will be scattered to the wind
In the greatest time of trouble since the world has ever been"
Now, the message of the prophets was for Israel in their day
And their writings are historical, as "scholars" love to say
But the history itself becomes prophetic for today
Just before Christ’s Second Coming and the closing of the age
For the greatest time of trouble since the world has ever been
Has been prophesied to fall upon this world of sinful men
It has never been before and it shall never be again
It’s the greatest time of trouble since the world has ever been
Jerusalem was the city of God
’Cause that’s where God did place His name
But it fell, but it fell,
But it fell from glory to shame
Ezekiel was a prophet of God
Because God told him what to do
And I know, and I know,
And I know what he said was true
America is God’s nation today
’Cause we’re the people God has blessed
Far above, far above,
Far above and beyond the rest
Repent, oh people, I suggest
The Law of God you have transgressed
’Cause that’s where God did place His name
But it fell, but it fell,
But it fell from glory to shame
A sinful symbol it became
Ezekiel was a prophet of God
