Simple Point of View
By Matthew Kalliman
Genesis 6:5; Matthew 24:37; II Timothy 3:1-4; Isaiah 2:3; Leviticus 19:18; Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 5:14; Ecclesiastes 12:13-
If you understood my point of view
You might think the same way too
I'll tell you my story, it won't take too long
If I tell it right, will you hear it wrong?
It's just a simple song!
But men believe what they think is true
Seldom hearing anything new
If we could listen and open our minds
Then I believe that we'd find:
The world is becoming a bad place to live in
Like Noah, approaching a great cataclysm
While love waxes cold and while hatred abounds
While wisdom is silent and foolishness sounds
While peaceful existence is getting too rare
While strife and confusion prevail everywhere
With men versus women and blacks versus whites,
With rich versus poor and with lefts versus rights,
With candidates slandering one and another
And children the same to their father and mother
With new generations rejecting the old
Rebellion and crime in the streets uncontrolled
Religious divisions, divorces and more
With governments toppling and nations at war
And everything else that you see on the news
You know everyone can't all be right in their views
A balance of power restraining the bomb
How long can it keep going on?
Think it through, and maybe you'll see
Men were made to learn to agree
There is a standard the prophets foresaw
That men will soon look to in reverence and awe
It's God's Law!
Put your hatreds up on the shelf
Love your neighbor as yourself
This was the teaching from Moses to Paul
And that is the purpose to life, after all
And friends, what I'm telling to you
Is true!
That's my point of view
You might think the same way too
I'll tell you my story, it won't take too long
If I tell it right, will you hear it wrong?
