TRUE EDUCATION ANSWERS THESE QUESTIONS!
"A human being cannot say he has been truly educated unless he can answer the questions: 'Why were you born?,' 'What is the purpose of life?' and 'What happens after you die?' "
-- Herbert W. Armstrong
Questions #1 and #2 above (Does God exist?; Is the Bible the divinely inspired Word of God?) are answered by The Seven Millennial Days of Human History. The Bible was written by many different people over a long period of time. Each writer contributed one piece of a large jigsaw puzzle -- but the "big picture" remained hidden until our time (Daniel 12:4, 9). The prophets and apostles who wrote the Bible did not understand God's Master Plan of history (Acts 1:7). But today we can see how the pieces of the puzzle fit together to form a complete picture, thus demonstrating that the mind of God -- one mind -- has guided the course of human history and overseen the production of the Holy Scriptures. (It has been said that new truth is at first rejected, then resisted, and finally viewed as self-evident!) The Seven Millennial Days of Human History -- Overview
" . . . they put new wine into new wineskins. . . ."
(Matthew 9:17)
Question #3 (Where is the one true Church?) is determined by the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16). "Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His" (Romans 8:9). There will be the fruits of love, joy, peace, harmony, truth, understanding, sound mindedness, obedience to the Government of God (Galatians 5:22-23; John 16:13; I Corinthians 2:9-16; II Timothy 1:7; I John 2:4; 5:3). " . . . I will let them hear My words,
that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth,
and that they may teach their children."
(Deuteronomy 4:10)
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments."
(Psalm 111:10)
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
But fools despise wisdom and instruction."
(Proverbs 1:7)
The Two Trees in the Garden of Eden

Two Trees in the Garden
The Tree of Life
TRUE EDUCATION
"THE WORD OF GOD IS THE FOUNDATION OF KNOWLEDGE" -- philosophy of Ambassador College
First, we must learn to discern both good and evil; to distinguish between right and wrong. [Hebrews 5:12-14] The Ten Commandments teach us how to discern good from evil; how to distinguish between right and wrong. [Deuteronomy 4:13; I Kings 3:9-10; Psalms 1:1-3; 19:7-12; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Matthew 5:17-19; 19:17; Romans 7:7, 12] The tree of life separates good from evil (so you can see the difference clearly); the forbidden tree combines them (thus making evil seem good -- you wouldn't want to drink orange juice mixed with poison; a lie wrapped in truth is still a lie). We must have a teachable attitude -- be receptive toward God, but not gullible toward Satan. [Psalm 86:11; Isaiah 2:3; Matthew 4:4; 18:3; Romans 8:5-9] Resist peer pressure! Don't follow a crowd to do evil. Build your life on the right foundation. [Exodus 23:2; Proverbs 24:21; Matthew 7:24-29; Luke 6:22; Ephesians 2:20-22] "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."
(John 17:17) "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32) "For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea." (Isaiah 11:9) |
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
FALSE EDUCATION
"Evil mixed with goodness starts a trend
That leads to only evil in the end" -- song, Two Trees in the Garden Satan deceives the whole world. [Revelation 12:9; 20:3] The first principle of true religion is to make sure you are following the right God! [I John 5:19-21] All man-made religion is idolatry. [Exodus 20:3-6; 32:1-8; Daniel 3:1-30; Acts 17:16-31; I Corinthians 10:20-21; Ephesians 6:10-12; Revelation 9:20; 13:11; 18:2] True religion is God's revealing, not man's searching. [Daniel 12:10; Matthew 13:11; John 17:14-19; I Corinthians 2:9-14; Revelation 1:1-3; 22:18-19] The basis of polluted Christianity is the "twisting" of Paul's writings. [II Peter 3:15-18; 2:1-3, 19-21; I Corinthians 3:10-17; II Corinthians 11:3-4, 13-15; Galatians 1:6-9; II Thessalonians 2:1-12; II Timothy 4:1-5] A World in Confusion Atheism, agnosticism and evolution permeate our schools and oppose the Word of God. [Psalms 14 and 53; Romans 1:20-32; 3:10-18; Hebrews 11:3, 6] Regarding the Theory of Evolution "You shall have no other gods before me."
(Exodus 20:3) "So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Revelation 12:9) |
Satan the devil, the god of this age, goes all out to prevent the light of the knowledge of God from entering human minds -- like a "solar eclipse" which blocks out the light of the sun so it doesn't reach the earth (II Corinthians 4:3-6). Satan has been influencing the literature, art, music, entertainment, culture, religion, values, education and government of mankind throughout this present evil age (Galatians 1:4; Ephesians 2:2-3; 6:12; Acts 26:18; Revelation 18:22-23; Isaiah 47:9-13). God calls His people out from the ways of this world (I John 2:15-17; II Corinthians 6:17; Revelation 18:4) to be pioneers of the World Tomorrow (Hebrews 2:5, 10; 11:13).

"See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. . . .
"I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing;
therefore choose life. . . ."
(Deuteronomy 30:15, 19)
"There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death."
(Proverbs 14:12; 16:25)
"Enter by the narrow gate;
for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction,
and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life,
and there are few who find it."
(Matthew 7:13-14)
The lesson of the two trees in the garden of Eden is the most important lesson in the Bible (Ephesians 6:10-18; I Peter 5:6-9; James 4:7-8). The two trees look similar, but one leads to life and the other to death (Deuteronomy 30:19; Proverbs 8:35-36; Matthew 7:13-14). One represents loyalty to the Government of God, while the other represents rebellion against it. God gives man Truth (John 17:17; Proverbs 8:7-9; II Timothy 3:16), but Satan deceives the world (Revelation 12:9; John 8:44). When one yields to a power which deceives him he goes into a "mental fog" -- he loses the ability to think clearly and make right decisions.
Herbert W. Armstrong, Pastor General of the Worldwide Church of God, declared, "The line of demarcation between the true Church and false Christianity is the matter of obedience to the Law of God." Mr. Armstrong also stated, "God will not save anyone He can't rule," and, "In the Church of God the mind of God rules."
God is the Great Lawgiver (James 4:12). Satan's ploy since the garden of Eden has been to give humanity "permission to sin." The Bible calls sin lawlessness [from the Greek word anomia (Matthew 7:23; 13:41; 24:12; I John 3:4) which means the flagrant defiance of the known will of God]. Scripture shows that God will always forgive sins of weakness upon the repentance of the sinner (Leviticus 5:5-6; Isaiah 55:6-9; Ezekiel 18:30-32; Matthew 18:21-22; I John 1:9; Romans 3:25), but that He will never tolerate sins of rebellion (Leviticus 26:14-15; Numbers 15:30-31; Hebrews 10:26-31; I John 5:16-17). Satan "holds the world captive" today through 1) great religious deception which purports to nullify the Law of God (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Malachi 4:4; Matthew 5:17; 15:3; 19:17; Luke 16:17; Revelation 12:17; 14:12), and 2) modern secular education based on the theory of evolution which denies the existence of God (Romans 1:20, 28; Hebrews 11:3, 6).
In the World Tomorrow "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" (Isaiah 11:9). This is the education which God's people should be seeking today (Matthew 6:33; Hebrews 11:6; Isaiah 55:6-9) and which God's Church should be teaching (Matthew 28:19-20; John 17:14-20; Revelation 2-3). All true Christians who successfully fulfill the purpose of their lives (Romans 8:28-30; Matthew 24:13; Hebrews 3:6, 14) will be resurrected and given eternal life at Christ's Second Coming (I Corinthians 15:23, 50-54; Revelation 20:4-6). All of the resurrected Saints will have received the same education and training, will have learned to speak as Christ speaks and shall have no divisions among them (Matthew 12:25; Luke 6:22-23; 13:28; I Corinthians 1:10; 12:25; Hebrews 11). They will have learned to respect the Government of God over them (I Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11) and shall be entrusted with the responsibility of administering God's Government faithfully over the nations (I Corinthians 6:2; Revelation 1:6; 2:26-27; 20:4-6).
[Warning: do not assume that what poses as "Christianity" today administers the Government of God (Matthew 7:21-23; 24:4-5, 11, 15, 23-26; II Corinthians 11:3-4, 13-15; II Peter 2; Jude; Revelation 2:2; 13:11; 17:1-5). Most Christian religions have not learned the vital lessons taught by Herbert W. Armstrong when he put the Church of God back on track. Ministers should be respected only to the degree that they themselves follow the Government of God over them (Matthew 15:3, 9, 14). True religious authority proceeds from God the Father through Jesus Christ and the apostles whom He taught directly (Deuteronomy 18:18-19; 34:10; Matthew 17:5; Acts 3:22-23; John 17:14-20; Galatians 1:11-12). Ministers who have "stepped out of line" from this authority are themselves cut off from God, do not carry His authority and are not to be followed (I Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11; John 15:1-8; II Peter 2:10, 19, 21; 3:2; II John 9-11; III John 9-11). Jesus said to beware of them, and that they would be known by their fruits (Matthew 7:15-23; 24:4-5; Luke 6:43-45). Regarding non-Christian religions, see John 14:6; Acts 4:12 and I John 2:22-23.] What is a Liberal? -- Recent History of the Philadelphia Era of the Worldwide Church of God -- The Words of Christ Carry Authority -- The Words of the Apostles Carry Authority -- A World in Confusion
God's true Church today is "teacher training school" preparing its members to become leaders under Christ in the World Tomorrow (Isaiah 1:26; Jeremiah 23:4; Ezekiel 34:23; I Corinthians 6:2; Hebrews 2:5-10; Revelation 2:26-27). The Saints in the First Resurrection (I Corinthians 15:22-23; Revelation 20:4-6) will be graduating from "God's School for Eternal Life" while those destined to become the first human generation of the World Tomorrow are being prepared to enter into it.
God wants the Good News of His coming Kingdom to be proclaimed throughout the world at the end of this age in order to prepare an entire generation for the incredible events pictured by the Days of Trumpets and Atonement (Leviticus 23:23-32; Malachi 3:1; 4:5-6; Matthew 24:14; Luke 1:16-17; Revelation 8:2-9:21; 11:3-4). After being refined, corrected and humbled, the human survivors of the Great Tribulation will be eager to receive the education which Christ and the resurrected Saints shall give them in the World Tomorrow (Isaiah 2:3, 10-21; 4:2-4; 30:20-21; 60:21-22; 65:8-25; Jeremiah 31:33-34; 50:20; Ezekiel 5:12; 14:22-23; Daniel 9:24; 12:1; Zephaniah 2:2-3; 3:11-13; Zechariah 13:8-9; Matthew 24:21-22; Romans 11:26-27; Revelation 6:12-17; 7:14-17; 11:15). The Days of Trumpets and Atonement
So be diligent not to allow Satan's great deceptions -- represented by "the tree of knowledge of good and evil" -- to enter into your mind. Seek the education that comes from God. Study the Bible (Proverbs 2:1-5; II Timothy 2:15). Beware of the false values, false education and false religion prevalent in today's society (Matthew 7:15; 24:4; Romans 1:18, 25). Recapture True Values!
