Lesson in the Sky
By Matthew Kalliman
John 1:1-12; Genesis 1:14-19; Isaiah 9:1-2, 6-7; Matthew 4:12-17; Luke 1:30-33
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God
And the Word was with God too
In Him was life, and the life was the light
And the light shined clearly through
But the light shined in the darkness
And the darkness didn’t know
That He made all things, and He gave men power
That the light could spread and grow
CHORUS
Two great lights, one rules the day, one rules the night,
Look up high, there’s a lesson in the sky!
Well, David had a kingdom
That was given to his son
Who ruled the world with wisdom
When there was peace for everyone
But the prophets said a Child would come
That God was going to send
To rule the world from the throne of David
When the peace would never end
CHORUS
Well, David’s kingdom ended
And was taken from his land
By Babylon, who ruled the world
When darkness made its stand
But the ones who sat in darkness
Began to see great light
While a greater Kingdom was at hand
Its power shining bright
CHORUS
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God
And the Word was with God too
In Him was life, and the life was the light
And the light shined clearly through
But the light shined in the darkness
And the darkness didn’t know
That He made all things, and He gave men power
That the light could spread and grow
CHORUS
Two great lights, one rules the day, one rules the night
Look up high, there’s a lesson, there's a lesson
There's a lesson in the sky!
And the Word was with God too
In Him was life, and the life was the light
And the light shined clearly through
But the light shined in the darkness
And the darkness didn’t know
That He made all things, and He gave men power
That the light could spread and grow
CHORUS
Two great lights, one rules the day, one rules the night,
